Race Village

We had the most cracking day yesterday despite not being able to get on the actual racing pontoons yesterday. We had to just watch from above. On an almost overcast day by the time our train arrived (prompt, clean and groovy uniforms for SNCF) we walked across to race village.

The place was packed and we had a blast. We walked miles yesterday and fret after our fill of those lean mean swailing machines (absolutely awesome even from where we stood) we went for a spot of lunch and then headed for la plage and more walking.

Gorgeous sea front so typically French and up to the famous canal wall where the boats will be towed up tomorrow am in time for the 1302 race time. The Atlantic swell was in force yesterday as the wind picked up a treat and the rain came down, not much therefore out on the water.

More to come tomorrow on the nostalgia of the day but it made ours, so two weary sailors made their way back to base camp via a very groovy French bistro in town.....it was the perfect end to a swooper duper day. Can't wait until tomorrow.
