Night Adventure

We,ve woken up this morning in our new home for winter and its lovely!

We slipped the lines from Mayflower in the dark of night with the rain at bay temporarily. I got a soaking on the way back from taking the trolley back and wondered whether setting off was such a good idea.

Emma on her second attempt managed to get on board safely without incident and no sooner was she on board than she was clipped on to ensure she stayed there!

So off we went into the darkness it was peaceful and spooky at the same time. Lights in the distance from the warships just beyond the breakwater, and the odd boat passing us by.

Emma was chief navigator with her nightlight and as we came closer I was rouge bot spotter.
The lock during winter is on free flow so with a quick call on the radio we were in. The fishing boats as we came in where still unloading their catch but bar that there was no one about.

We entered our new berth without drama and soaked in our new surroundings as the rain started to come down.

A celebratory drink with some friends that had come down to meet us and then off for a ruby murray together.....a long wait in the restaurant but well worth it.

A late night as we chewed the cud back aboard and then sleep. The bot was swooper warm and snug. It's a hive if activity here this morning as we soak in our new surroundings, it's a gorgeous day with stunning blue sky and mild.

The crew are happy and looking forward to spending our time down here over the next six months.
