Yep we are leaving our thriving barrier reef for a whole two weeks. With our old fish tank it was simple, drop in some long last pellets....job done. Not this high maintenance machine oh no.
Das captain has rigged up some gizmondo, well it's an automatic dry food feeding machine to the top of the tank and we have instructions for my mother in law who has kindly agreed to be chief reef feeder and cleaner for the next two weeks for the fresh stuff.
The automatic dosing system is working well but they still need their equivalent of red bull to boost coral growth and of course the protein skimmer needs emptying once a week. Thank goodness they make their own exercise!
Wonder if they'll be stroppy on our return after not taking them with us on hols?...
